Corporate Sustainability Policy
At Sonoma Restorations, we believe the materials we work with should carry both character and conscience. Every piece of oak or timber we bring into our shops has a story—and we’re committed to making sure that story starts in the right place.
That’s why we work closely with our suppliers to cut out wood from unacceptable sources and to steadily increase the use of responsible materials—whether certified, reclaimed, or recycled. Reclaimed wood remains at the core of what we do, but when we need new lumber, we look first to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)–certified sources that meet our standards.
What we refuse to use is just as important. Sonoma Restorations will not source wood that comes from:
• Illegally harvested or traded timber
• Timber taken in violation of civil or traditional rights
• Forests where high conservation values are at risk from poor management
• Land stripped of forests and converted to plantations or non-forest use
• Forests planted with genetically modified trees
Through this policy, we aim to set a standard not just for ourselves, but for our peers as well - proving that craftsmanship and responsibility can go hand in hand. Our goal is simple: keep forests thriving, keep materials in use, and build products with integrity that last for generations.
