It keeps usable wood in circulation, reduces waste, and often leverages tight-grained, older stock. Natural marks and patina remain, so every piece carries real history and one-of-a-kind character.

Both are responsible choices. Reclaimed wood typically carries a lower footprint because it reuses existing material and avoids harvesting new trees. FSC-certified wood ensures new lumber comes from responsibly managed forests. Our approach does both things right: reclaim first, finish with low-VOC products, source locally when possible, and give back through ongoing environmental commitments.

-Seal: We use Pure Tung Oil on wood (our indoor standard), with hand-rubbed coats for depth and protection. We use a marine grade Spar Varnish on our outdoor products for increased water durrablility.

The price reflects the time and skill required to do it right: careful salvage and sourcing; de-nailing and metal detection; cleaning, grading, and kiln-drying/pest treatment; milling irregular boards with custom setups; precise joinery; hand finishing with cure time; and rigorous QA with protective packing. Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills promptly with a barely damp, lint-free cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives. Keep away from prolonged moisture and direct heat/sun. For oiled finishes, refresh with a light coat of Pure Tung Oil as needed (typically 1–2×/year indoors).
